As it was my idea originally, I guess I had better explain our 'raison d'etre'.
1 - This is a board for those of us who want to read and discuss a book on a reasonably regular basis.
2 - There is no compulsion to read a book in a month.
3 - If you don't finish a book or don't want to read a book, I will not be sending round the book police - it's a free country
4 - Please, let's be pleasant and respect each other's views (I know you will, but just in case, I said it.)

I've set up a 'Club Room' in the new Chatroom. If anone thinks it's a good idea to have a 'live meeting' that might be just the place.

I love reading but I only read rubbishy thrillers - are these allowed? I don't want to do serious stuff

all tastes will be catered for - with no compulsion to participate in a particular book

Nat, you can join in after exams, ok? A bit of light reading won't hurt him! The day I sat my last exam, my first thought as I left Govan Town Hall (even before 'whose round is it?') was; 'Now I can read a book for pleasure for the first time in six years!'

Yes, let's get started. All we need is someone to suggest a book....which can be sourced at your local library.
Can I make a suggestion :
Captain Corelli's Mandolin - Louis de Bernieres.
