When I was leaving the hospial last wednesday they gave me this leaflet to read, and I mixed it up to make this poem LOL. Pelvic Poetry
To tone those muscles down below
Remember this poem when you go
When taking a visit to the loo
This is what you should do
Take a seat and start to go
Then stop and hold in mid-flow
Repeat, three or four times or more
Think of the benefits to your pelvic floor
If your in a pregnant state
Do not think you can't relate
If we don't keep up our nagging
You may find your muscles seriously sagging
By looking after your pelvic floor
The enjoyment of sex is so much more
With those muscles nice and tight
This will add to his delight
So, don't forget to stop and start
Use your head, be really smart
Continue for life and don't forget
When your old, you won't be wet.

Julie, I loved it you are a poet of class!!
However there is a caution I must take you to task, This action is not without its perils,
there is a risk of UTI urinary tract infection - you ask me why?
By pulling back, you retract your "wee", an infection may follow you can easily see.
use this method only once to find those muscles, in case you lost them perchance!
Having discovered the place and to make it tight, you should now know how to pull them in right.
pull them in for ten seconds or so, you can do this whenever you think of it even on the go.
washing up, ironing and waiting for a bus think of them as your exercise workout and don't make a fuss!!
Beck xxx
with apologies for artistic licence! (this is my first ever poem and I thank you Julie for inspiring me to join you on this board!!!)

Jools that is fantastic (men should do this also and ward off the dread performance failure).
You have a chance here to do a wee (sorry) book of poems based upon such advice leaflets. Get collecting and collating and do it now!

I was told by a friend, who is a physiotherapist, specialising in woman's problems, that this is an old wives tale. I'm sorry to correct you Beau I have to say it is not so If by chance you slacken off You pay the price when you cough Pelvic floor exercises, if done properly, can tone those internal muscles. I have no knowledge on the specialist subject, and was just passing on the info that I was told from one who should know better.

Tummy muscles should be tightened Keeps the waistbands lighter.
First lie on the floor Breathe in hold in your tummy
Breathing naturally for the count of ten then let tummy muscles go, and begin again.
When you know what to do, you can do this as you move!
A handy tip given to me by Rosemary Conley at a seminar!
