According to The Times, so it must be right, The National Trust says that when we dust we should never move ornaments. Evidently, if you lift them to dust underneath, you risk breaking them. If you don't go in a room very often, vacuming is only needed once a month.
*thinks may have to start drinking pints of g & t earlier in the day to fill in the extra time I have because I don't clean so much*

Harrumph...did they give any helpful hints on keeping the bathroom puddle free...tyg inisists on using the whole bathroom as a shower room in the mornings, and guess who has to go in there to clean up after him?

I'm going to send this to my mother! Ever since I can remember I was given ear-ache over not moving the ornament and dusting underneath and then being lambasted when I did drop one! ;D Also, I apparently couldn't vacuum either, because I never....quote "got my back into it"...unquote!! Mother's fave rant was "if you can't do it with a good heart, don't do it at all" I was really stupid one day and took her at her word (only the once mind)

quentin crisp didnt hoover or dust for 20+ yrs, and,yes it was filthy but he never broke any ornaments,they were just hard to find!

the housework is never hard ,It's the stuff that has to be put away before you can see what needs cleaning
