Following on from something I was asked to do last week by BBC Children in Need, we asked them if it would be a good idea to post the guidelines on the use of the BBC Children in Need Logo for fundraising activities. So here is the definitive response.
Use of BBC Children in Need Logo
We are very grateful for all fundraising events organised in aid of BBC Children in Need but do have some guidelines on how our logo can be used to publicise these. All events organised by fundraisers must use a version of the logo with the text 'In aid of' included to demonstrate this is not an event organised by the charity itself. This is a legal requirement so the correct logo must be used and can be obtained by emailing pudsey@bbc.co.uk
Similarly, only products produced by the charity itself or partners who have signed a licensing agreement can carry the BBC Children in Need logo. Any other products must again use the 'In aid of' logo to demonstrate this is not official merchandise, but a percentage of the profits will benefit the charity . This percentage legally needs to be stated clearly on the product and packaging to ensure this is obvious to the consumer.
If you would like to use the 'In aid of BBC Children in Need' logo in either of the two ways described here, you first need to ask permission from the charity and complete an official Use of Logo Agreement form to approve this legally. You can obtain the form and any other advice you need on branding by emailing us at pudsey@bbc.co.uk
Thanks again for your support!
BBC Children in Need
Hells and I would also be happy to offer help and advice but obviously we cannot make decisions or give you permission on behalf of BBC Children in Need. If you want any help or advice on this issue email us at info@togscalendar.org
