Okay, as you know tyg four is on the autistic spectrum. Her obsession is water and she doesn't understand the dangers. We inherited a pond when we moved here last October and two idiots friends emptied most of it and took the few frogs left to their pond. My problem is, over winter it has refilled and now has lots of tadpoles and at least eight pairs of frogs. I need to get rid of the pond but what do I do about the frogs etc. I don't want to kill things, put them down the drain or leave them high and dry.

Faery, frogs are pretty adaptable, if you are able to then relocate the tadpoles to another water source and gently encourage the adult Frogs out of the pond, fill the pond up quick cos the bu99ers will want to jump back in pretty quick. I speak from experience when I relined my pond last year LOL. The adult frogs will find another source of water without your help.

Alternatively, fill the pond with cobbles to a depth that won't be dangerous for your TYG.

Alternatively, fill the pond with cobbles to a depth that won't be dangerous for your TYG. There is also the option of fitting a mesh just under the surface. It will give you the pond and keep the lad safe.
This is just one I found on google

You know that if you can catch them, you are very welcome to bring them over to us tomorrow. The frogs that is, not the TYGs.

Fish will eat spawn and tadpoles. I suppose that's one of the reasons why there are so many - nature knows that only a few will survive. Most of mine got scoffed this year.

We had fish in the Somerset pond, but I used to worry about them too much.

Aye Janglers just ask Whitby what I was like last year with my newly created pond LOL ;D Worry? Half the grey hair on my head was caused by me worrying about me fish. By the way the frogs, and newts (if your lucky) will find their own way to your pond Janglers. I've now got 5 or 7 in our pond. Though no newts, probably cos I have fish in the pond.

Don't quite understand the logic there Toby, I've got newts as well as fish, frogs and toads. Are fish meant to eat newts?
