Don't think it's mock orange Julie...I seem to remember it begins with a B, but I could be wrong!...lol.

I agree with you Peek and I think I have two of the ones requring ID but need to check what they are. I was - oddly enough - about to post asking why both of mine are showing signs of leaf discolouration and one of die back. One is planted in the border whilst the other is in a container. A thought - Is it a Skimmia? Mutter mutter curses beaten by the girlies - Anyone know why mine are looking sickly?

I think (no commitment here!) that it might be a prunus laurocerasus - I've got a couple of photos in my gardeners bible (RHS Encyclopaedia) that look very similar to the photo you have posted.

oh sorry Peek my other guess would have been a Choicia I had a chosia for quite a while, but it began to get very leggy and had a weird smell to it. It does have fabulous,vivid ,green leaves though so I might get another one soon.
