Hubby has been given some almonds, as the company he works for also grows almonds. Anyhow, how do you take the brown skin off? I tried today by popping them in the oven while a cake was cooking. They taste lovely but the brown skin is still there!

As for skinning tomatoes...plunge the almonds in boiling water for a few seconds...hey presto skins rub off easily (well 99% will)...'Blanched Almonds'

Thanks Mel!
Peekie, you do eat the brown bit, but if your making a cake you dont want the brown bits in it really....or I dont! So, I said to mum how do they take the skins off, she said try the oven as I had it on. Didn't work and the muffins were ready for almonds and baking, so I used the shop ones! I now have some baked almonds, some iced baked almonds and some plain almonds. Well, when the company give you a kilo bag of them you have to do something with them!!
