I stopped going, not because the others smelt of anything other than sweet perfume (all except one other were ladies of a certain age) but because I never got the book read in a month.
I read quite a lot of books at the same time (mainly non-fiction) so I don't very often finish one in a short time - unless I've got a good novel, and I'm on holiday.
Do others find the same thing?
I am a very slow reader and prefer books printed on thick paper with large print - and not too many pages. When I get proofs of my books to read I constantly ask myself, 'Why did I write so much?'
What a good idea to have this thread too.

So, if we don't have to sit and take in the smells of others, how does this work please?

A good start.
One poster saying he can't cope with the concept and publicising his own scribbling.

A good start. One poster saying he can't cope with the concept and publicising his own scribbling. My Lord, I didn't put up a poster publicising my scribble.

A good start. One poster saying he can't cope with the concept and publicising his own scribbling. My Lord you will be disappointed when my definitive volume, 'The 'Correct disposal of waste materials in East Kent' is finally published and you discover that the foreward has been written, not by you, but by that dear man, Norm.
