I'm reading Derren Brown's Tricks of the Mind. As long as you understand he's not about to teach you how to hypnotize a bit of blond totty into sleeping with you it's a very interesting book and very, very funny. I don't know why I just recommended that, just felt compelled to, now I'm feeling sleepy.

I enjoyed this book too, it is funny and very interesting, particularly as I'm an amateur magician and try to use some of the techniques discussed in this book - not always with success but when they work they are very powerful,

I tried the simple card trick on my wife but added my own twist by going through the deck (her's was the Ace of hearts) and missing her card each time. Eventually told her to think hard of her card and picture it in her mind. I said, "keep thinking of it and block everything else out, just concentrate on the ace of hearts". Her face was a picture. She still can't work it out.

;D - My wife is furious because I won't tell her how I did a trick involving revealing a name and place written down by someone else

OOh, does this book tell you how to do that? (I'm nearly up to half way)
