Right folks,
the time has come to select the next book for reading.
Please PM me with suggestions and I will set up a poll.

I have locked the poll thread and the results indicate that the next book we shall tackle is 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'
As this doesn't come out until 21st July, and may well be a weighty tome, may I suggest we have until 11th August to read it?
All comments welcome

May I suggest that having read it by August 11th, you keep comments to a minimum so as not to ruin it for others who cannot borrow it until nephew has read it himself?!
Thank you

Well, what we will do is have a thread that says specifically that, should you not wish to know anything of what happens in the book, you should not go anywhere near it.

Agreed. Put something like: 'Deathly Hallows review: warning will contain spoilers' </bossy boots>

Hope you folks enjoy the new book I won't be joining you this time as I don't like HP. Maybe the next book will be more up my street. ;D As I said hope you enjoy, I look forward to hearing your views on it at least.

Thanks Cheesy.
Maybe if you PM me with the genres you like I can see if book number three is more to your taste

You know I've been thinking (stop laughing at the back!), why not have a separate Harry Potter 7 thread for those of us who are fans and want to read the book, and have a different book to review for everyone else in the book club?
Normally I would say we should all stick to the same book but considering how long HP7 is, perhaps an exception could be made in this case?
Just a thought.

Good plan tigger I think if I can join in. I nearly always have two books on the go one is my bath book for the bathroom (why did I have to explain that) and one bus book for the erm bus.

I'm not normally a Potter fan but will give it a go.
My boss told me she has it on order from AMazon but also said there is an adult version and a kids version. Can anyone confirm this?

There are two different versions - but it's just the cover! Apparently this time the "adult" cover is outselling the "kids'" cover slightly.
Personally I like the brightness of the kids' versions anyway so that's what I've ordered.

Can't wait and preparing for an all night session if needs be!

Glen is right.
Although, the kids versions were launched first, so I have just stuck with them.

I have just discovered a tragedy of timing. Having ordered my copy and being all prepared to trek into Derby to get it I have just discovered that its the same weekend as my future mother in laws open gardens which I have agreed to help at. Which means I am going to have to wait till Monday to get the book which means I am going to be unable to by a newspaper/go out/ speak to anyone in case they ruin it for me. Should I risk future mother in laws wrath and fake illness so I can stay home or do the charity open gardens and just be patient.

Is there no way you can manage a quick dash to Derby then go and help? If not, it depends how evil you're feeling!
I've had notification Amazon have despatched my copy - just praying the Post Office don't go on strike again!
