I have put the following on my list; The Russian Concubine, by Kate Furnivall an author who lives about 3 miles from me, so I thought I would support her. Mercy by Jodi Picoult, I have loved all her books. The Innocent Man, by John Grisham, he keeps me spellbound all through his books. Thats just three, what have you all asked Santa for?

Umm "In Stitches" I haven't heard of this one, but having spent a large part of my life in A & E (working, not as a patient : I might enjoy it.

On my wish list was Russell Brand's 'Booky Wook' which I thoroughly enjoyed - it tends to divide readers into opposing camps apparently. It's incredibly poetic in many ways and very funny, as well as detailing his shocking descent into drink and drugs addiction. Some people have found it indulgent, which I suppose in some ways it is, but it also extremely honest.
I also asked for and received the Women's Hour 60th anniversary anthology. It's a brilliant look at how the aspirations and roles of women have changed in the last 60 years - so many things have changed and some not at all. It bought a lump to my throat in several places, understanding the huge barriers that faced women just to gain what we think are inalienable rights these days.
