Getting up early as I did this morning and walking down to the Trent with Jester the Dog. I took my new binocs and we were off! Sometimes I think there not much about but today I was in the mood for looking! First I saw a Hare with the sun shining on his ears making them all pink! I saw silver wagtails (not pied but they didn't have yellow under-carriages either). Then down at the Trent I could hear Buzzards mewing and sat by the waters edge and was treated to 5 of them catching thermals and then dive bombing between the trees right opposite me. Fantastic! And the sun was out (its gone all cloudy now). So get up early and get going!

I do love the fact that I live right next to the sea as walking along early in the morning, with the sun coming up, and the sound of the waves crashing on the beach is so lovely. I may not see alot of wildlife as it's very built up (apart from the odd sparrow or seagull) but it's just as lovely. No time during the week to do it, but on a Saturday or Sunday morning, bliss!

Re: Not seeing much in a built up area. It's worth looking up even in built up areas. my partner saw a Peregrine from the London eye. I've seen Red Kites and Buzzards over Inverness. Sparrow Hawks just love people to feed the birds as it means they can choose from a variety of garden birds for their breakfast. They are very happy to come into town to shop!
