Hi Rev. Michael, I hope you don't mind me putting my query on your board.
Just wanted to pop in and ask if any other togs or tygs attend Spiritualist Churches? My reason for asking is curiosity as I have attended our local one for many years and just wanted to find out other peoples opinion of them and if they have received comfort from attending the services and following meetings.

So far as I am concerned everyone is welcomed. The only rule is that we respect one another, even, and especially if we have different views. I don't want this board to be one where we 'slag one an another off' and try to score points against others. So, come on, do others attend Spiritualist churches? If you don't want to say on these boards, then I'm sure Dakotablu won't mind you pm-ing her.

My mum has attended one once or twice. Her 'friend' wanted to go. She is very open to that sort of thing (mum is), going to card readers and such like. Can't remember if anyone 'talked' to her. Dad often comes through at spiritulist fairs. She stopped going as the friend got upset when no-one 'spoke' to her.

Hi Izzi I have been to Spiritulist churches, I have not had any 'messages' myself, I do believe in an afterlife and in the spiritual side of things. I have been told I am psychic and do read cards for people. I find it a fascenating subject. Thanks for bringing it up Izzy. Love TT xxxx

I'm interested to know what spiritulist churches are please excuse my ignorance. We have a regular church service followed by either a local or visiting medium who then gives readings or messages from friends and relatives who have passed on. Any further info please fell free to send me a PM

Although i am basically C of E, i have been to spiritualist meetings as well. I started going about 45 years ago after i saw my father standing at the top of the stairs.I walked passed him and said, bathrooms empty dad, as i had for many years. Nothing unusual about that, except he was cremated 2 days earlier. It was'nt wishfull thinking either, as i had'nt got on with him for many years, and only returned to live at home to help mum look after him. I have received many messages from him over the years, and one which saved my life. Concrete stuff that no medium or spiritual minister could know, his nickname in the army was Sandy, he had'nt been called that for many years. I asked him to give me something that no-one would have known, and that's what was given. Some say rubbish, some say evil, some swear by it. Who knows. To my shame i rarely go to any church these days, but firmly believe there is life after this earthly one is done.

Thanks Ann I often feel my Dad sitting beside me in the car, I agree, the messages I have received through mediums/ spiritual ministers that I have never met have been very accurate. One day we will know for sure.
