Going Green
Put your bottles in the bank Chuck them in and hear them clank Also jars without their lids Save the planet for our kids When you’ve eaten, crush those tins Take them to recycling bins Magazines and daily news All of these can be re-used When they are all parcelled up Comes a man in his big truck Belching fumes he carts them off Going green is really tough

I've laboured long to use those bins One for paper, one for tins I've squeezed and squashed, and in my hall A flattened box from 'Do it All' Now in the press, some folks complain Our efforts may be all in vain For when our junk gets to the tip It all goes into one big skip.

But...
Let's hear it for the wheelie bin; Don't waste it shoving rubbish in! Save the planet? Load of dross; The planet couldn't give a toss. No, use it as a linen chest: Shirts and blouses, pants and vest, Or stand it by the shed or hut And use it as a water butt. Or maybe even, Lord forbid, A handy place to keep the kid.
