THERE'LL ALWAYS BE AN ENGLAND
All together now...
There'll always be an England, While there's a country lane, Wherever there's a drunk who's uri... ...nating down a drain There'll always be an England, While there's a busy street, With young girls high on alcopops Unconscious at your feet
Red, white and blue, Colours of ev'ry hue Over the ground Vomit abounds Mind how you tread
The pavements too Covered in doggy do Gobbets of spit Dollops of sh*t Evenly spread
There'll always be an England, And England shall be free, For ever'y drunk and drugged up lout, But not for you or me.

Hi HD You are naughty bu I hope in reality very nice! Love TerriTalks xxxx Nice? I hope so. But cynical in the extreme. It is strange, perhaps, how a piece of nonsense like this parody can so often have a hard truth behind it. The 16-year-old daughter of some dear friends died last week after a short and tragic life in a wheelchair, never having spoken a word. She suffered from Retts Syndrome, and though very intelligent, lost most of her body functions by the age of two. At the end it was respiratory failure and she died peacefully in her mother's arms. Then I see news reports and film of other 16 year olds with all of life before them subjecting their healthy bodies to deliberate drunken debortury, and it makes me so desperately sad. I don't condemn them because I was 16 once, and pretty awful with it, but I do so wish that they all could have known my friends' daughter, the stricken girl who never failed to light up the world with her smile.

Well HD, I found that your parody went straight to the mark. Sadly, that is, has been and always will be Life and wherever we look, we'll never find the reason or justification for what you describe. It doesn't do to think too much about it and that's why I never read the newspapers or watch the news because my stomach just couldn't take it. We have to thank whoever we feel we need to thank for boards like this where there may be a little discord, a disagreement or two from time to time but in the larger scheme of things - a very wholesome place to be when any of the necessities of life are needed - like laughter, support, friendship and love of fellow man. They're all in abundance her. Please carry on the good work with your wonderful stories and poems. Happy Saturday.
Nuala xx
