For the last few weeks we've been getting an organic veg box delivered weekly by a local supplier.
We don't have much in the way of regular, accessible, famers' markets locally, and I object to the food miles involved in supermarket organic veg, so it seemed a good idea.
So far it's working out ok. It's delivered on a Friday, just in time for the weekend, and we know the week before pretty much what we're getting so can buy anything else during the week.
Only downside is you have to cook what you get! So, has anybody any idea what to do with Fennel?

Glen Can't stand the stuff myself, 'cos I've never been able to stick the taste of aniseed after getting totally mullered one night on Pernod & Black when I was 18!!!! Clicky this lot as a starter for 10 - no pun intended

Agree with you on the aniseed taste, but never tried Pernod & Black - McEwans Export was enough for me to get mullered before I underwent an intensive Broon training course.
Anyway, I've swapped it for one of my brother's hoooooog home grown parsnips!

Try it raw... I like it in potato salad, mayo, potatoes spring onions and little cubes of fennel... delicious!
