Curled at the edges, thumbed and loved The photograph lies in her lap Eyes so warm, moustache, firm mouth A daredevil, brave young chap
A face never aged, never drawn, never old Eyes always bright and shining A smile on the lips, the same smile that he gave When proposing to her whilst dining
She holds the photograph and looks at her ring Married forever, but now, always apart Her darling husband, dead now for 63 years, But always forever, alive in her heart.
