:)Hi, thanks to Albert ( an elderly neighbour and tomato expert) my 16 tomato plants are full of fruit! ;D ;D So what am I going to do with all the toms? So any recipes and ideas? Rose x

Make some Gazpacho!
I don't really bother with a 'recipe' but and tend to whizz up whatever I have such as - a load of tomatoes into a blender with cucumber, celery, spring onion, red pepper, tabasco/chilli, basil or parsley. Strain and chill.
Makes a lovely chilled soup or add vodka for a rather scrummy B. Mary.

You could always bottle them - put them up in jars. Peel them by popping them in boiling water for a minute to soften the skins up, then either leave them whole or chop them up, adding the juice. You can add garlic, herbs, whatever you like to flavour the tomatoes.
That way, you have your own supply of tomatoes to cook with.
Or you could make batches of pasta sauce and freeze that.
Simmer the peeled tomatoes down to a thick paste and jar that, and you have your own tomato purée.

A couple of pounds chopped and boiled with chicken stock. seasoned to taste.
Strain the pips out through a sieve.
Given another cooking with the herb of choice for a minute or two.. Coriander is good. (not obligatory)
Freezes well.
Friend and neighbours love the stuff.
Plenty of recipes on the web.

Last year we stored all our spuds in cardboard boxes in the shed. This year we came across a website to buy sacks (hessian I think) so have ordered some of those. Not that we planted more spuds, this years' grew from all the ones that got missed with the digging last year.

I had to move my composting bin cos mum didn't like it where it was. I planted onions and dwarf beans where the bin had been they came up and when everything came up I also had 3 potato plants must have grown from potato peelings!!!!!!!!!!! Rose x
