I am so proud of myself ;D Today I blanched and Froze 2 pounds of beans!!!! ;D Thanks to Albert, many friends have recieved tomatoes, I've made at least 4and a half litres of different types of tomato soup and tomorrow I'm going to attempt to make pasta sauce using only onions, dried porcini mushrooms and fresh ones and other bits and pieces. We haven't bought potatoes for 2 months but we'll have to next week. After30 years of having a concrete garden!!!!!! Rose xxxxx

Congratulatons! I lived with concrete or no gardens for only about 6 years, so I can readily imagine your pleasure now. One thought, if you have a load of green tomatoes at the end of the season, they make fabulous chutney. So, if you are a chutney sort of TOG, send me a PM and I'll send you my favourite recipe.

But after 30+ years with a concrete garden I am filled with joy and wonder. Rose x x

Has anyone ever heard of seeds lying dormant in the soil? I sowed some Early Scarlett Horn carrot seed this year but seem to have ended up with two varieties. Resistafly and ESH. Weird eh! ;D

Last year in my wild life garden (the corner behind the bird feeding station Which is a b*gger to get into) I discovered 3 carrot which I know I hadn't planted! I think if you encourage birds into your garden they leave you presents. Apart from that did you have a good crop? Rose x

Went to greenhouse when I got back from Australia and had lots to pick even though my sister had taken some home ...and I think I will have enough to make chutney. Plenty of different versions tomato soup in freezer. Thats the bit that has given me most satisfaction. How I have used what I have got. (Can't say what I have produced cos Albert looked after most plants.) Rosemary x

Its a wonderful feeling! I had family over when I picked my first lot and my 9 year old nephew said those tomatoes you picked were lovely. He and his mum had scoffed the lot!!!!!!!!!!!! My toms have been cropping for about 6 weeks and I thought they were just about finished but all of a sudden There are more flowers! Do you think I'll get more toms? Rose x

If there is any sun then you may indeed get more tomatoes. Here the sun is actually shining (I needed reminding what that big yellow thing in the sky was!), more toms are ripening too.

There was plenty of that warm shiny bright stuff today. Yesterday it was very cold and windy so this morning I set off ( 1st day back at school) dressed for early winter. Still I got more toms ripened. Rose xx
