Azalea

I've just been given an absolutely gorgeous bi-colour azalea (as I have managed to keep my two Christmas orchids in bloom for a whole fortnight now). According to the instructions it needs to have the potting compost kept moist, good light but no direct sunlight and a bit of a feed occasionally. All sounds reasonable to me; however, the last azalea I had indoors died off very quickly. Outdoors is an entirely different matter, I had a gorgeous azalea in the garden in Crossflatts that was sheltered behind the (low) front wall. Does anyone have any expert advice as to how I can keep this azalea happy and healthy indoors until it gets warm enough to pop it outside? I'll probably do the same as with the hibiscus (which is doing quite well) and half-bury the pot in the front garden in May, then bring it back in in late September.
