THE BLUE BLOB
I woke up this morning and stretched with a yawn Outside of my window sat a beautiful morn I looked on my pillow and there in full view Was a tearful, shivering blob of blue. It hadn't been there when I'd put out the light So it must have just crept in sometime in the night. I sat up in bed and studied my plight Was I gonna give in or stand up and fight ? It would be so easy to cover my face, Let the blob swallow me, sink without trace. Sign myself in for another day In the Land of the Lost where they turn Hope away. To spiral down to a bottomless pit Where handholds or footholds or stairs don't exist. Just halls full of mirrors - wherever you view, The same worthless person stares back at you. He wreaks great havoc, this wily blue blob. For the devil who sends him, he does a good job. This time, I won't give in - tomorrow I might But today, it's my choice to stand up and fight So I go to the kitchen ( the blob follows me ) And I sing while I'm making my first cup of tea. I sail through the house turning radios on In moments, the house and my heart fill with song. My best medication will kick in quite soon As I sit drinking tea and humming a tune. Then here comes Sir Terry. What more can I say? He's all that I need to chase blue blobs away.
With or without a fee - I love him !
