xxx Thanks Lily - we are having problems printing the colour as it appears on screen and in camera. Used to be ale to print good pics until we upgraded PC and now the printer drivers are not fully compatible with XP Also as you say they can actually cost more than having them done.

That way, she can share her photos with us, and if we want them we pay. However, I normally just take my 'card' into boots, or out here Rabbit, and print what I need. I must agree about the printer thing, mine is a good printer, meant to be photo quality, but to put in a frame or give to someone they are not good. Good luck!

...In fact Tescos will let you go in with your memory card and pick which pictures you want them to print for you. You can see them on screen before you decide as well.

What is the make and model of your printer? It is a rather ancient but still very useable Epson Stylus Photo 700. We are running it with Windows 2000 drivers which is better than when we first got the new PC when it hardly worked at all. I am beginning to wonder if it is the 'compatible' ink cartridge as we have never had such poor photographic results.

Still wary of this option as I once read or was told, of someone who lost their pics this way. Mind as one who once only realised the scamera had no film in only after taking circa 80 shots on a 36 exposure film I should talk

Hi - I was well impressed when in Victor Harbour at the quality and low cost that you could get copies done while you waited at the local photo shop.

There are also the Kodak print stations in some Boots stores. Are you using top quality photo' printer paper? Can make the world of difference. Smiffy, I fear that Victor Harbour may be a little too far for Carl to travel to.

It may have been the early ones but yes the card was wiped though not intentionally. I would not stick my memory card in a machine without first having copied the fiels across. However this may have been an issue with the first generation of in-shop machines. Only use good quality paper but have changed supplier of cartridges so that may be the problem. BTW - It was I that mentioned Victor Harbour to Smiffy

Carl, Have you tried giving the machine a thorough spring clean? They can and do get clogged up, especially if you're not using Epson ink cartridges. I'm using an Epson RX500 and the results are great, but I made the decision when I bought it to stick to their own cartridges, however expensive, but be a lot more choosy about what I print. xx

Hi - I have a cleaner cartridge but am thinking now that it may be the make of cartridge I have bought. I have used one make fairly regularly (it is tha same one that my local camera shop use when printing from digital) but have tried another make I think I will take the advice to use print services on cost grounds and reserve the home printing to special printing tasks. Many thanks to all who have replied.
