I did this a while ago - well, 1999 to be precise - and seized with the urge to see my name in print.... The Tog's Guide To Safe Eclipse The most important thing is "Always have protection". If you experience eclipse without protection, then it may be a few days before you notice anything unusual, and by then it is too late! If you are going to experience eclipse with a friend, don't rely on them to provide protection as you may find out at the last moment that they don't have any - and you may find yourself swept up in the emotion of the moment. Whilst most people will experience eclipse with a friend, it is perfectly acceptable to experience it by yourself - there are many who will! On the other hand, there are several who are planning a group eclipse experience! Although the fulfilment of eclipse may only last for 2 minutes or so, it will undoubtedly be a very emotional moment for you - especially for those who have never experienced eclipse before. In the aftermath, you may well be asking "When can I experience eclipse again?", "Will it last longer next time?", Unfortunately, these questions are not for me to answer.
