I decided to take Mrs Pargiter from across the landing out for a spin over the weekend.
So sporting my navy blue anorak and flat cap I went to get the Anglia from the garage block some half mile away. I put a cushion on the driver’s seat and soon I just was able to see over the dashboard.
I decided on a fish and chip lunch in little pub that I know in the country. The Anglia was handling well and on one stretch we got her up to 25mph.
When we finally turned off into the pub car park I was amazed to see just how busy the roads are nowadays. The traffic behind us continued to pass by, bumper to tail, for a good half hour. They all blew their horns and waved at us too. I had no idea Mrs Pargiter knew so many people.
But what a disappointment the pub was. It had gone all modern and there were no fish and chips on the menu. We had Buffalo wings and dipping sauce instead.
We did laugh going back home though because neither of us knew Buffalos could actually fly.
