David Austin, who has bred so many of his New English Roses has been appointed an OBE.
As someone who loves his roses I am very pleased.
Do others agree with me.

I agree. Nearly all the roses in my garden are David Austin's (about ten different ones I think). The most beautiful rose at the moment, you might like to know, is The Rambling Rector. Sadly I think I will have to get my secateurs to it at the end of this season as it's rambling is getting a bit unrestrained.
How wonderful it must be to create things of such beauty that will give pleasure to people for years. A well deserved OBE

You may have purchased it from David Austin Mdarlin but according to Apuldrum Roses it was bred in 1900 by Daisy Hill Northern Ireland. I don't think David Austin was breeding roses so long ago as that. Thanks for pointing it out though. My favourite David Austin is Gertrude Jekyll which, I may have mentioned before. It has a wonderful fragrance.
