As some of you may know, my garden has become a war zone with me making late evening and early morning sorties to fight the good fight against slugs, snails and foxes...
However, I am starting to get worried that the slugs have started some genetic engineering project as each day I swear that the ones that I am killing are getting bigger and bigger... the one that I did mortal combat with this morning was longer than my middle finger and wider than two fingers! It took a lot of salt. Also I think that slugs might be cannibals as I find them eating the dead bodies of my previous victims...
Is anyone else having probs with super slugs?

The wet West of Scotland is the home of the super slug. The biggest help I have in getting rid of them is the toad who regularly visits my Hosta bed to sleep in the shade of the leaves.

Last year I found two giant snails in the garden so I ..er ... named them Farquar and Sir Henry (it was hot last summer remember) Anyhoo, this year they have not returned but medium sized dastardly members of their family have been turning up regularly. I have given them short shrift and chucked on to the road to be zapped by passing cars ... and normally I am quite a gentle person
