I came back from holiday last week with a new load of plants from a fantastic nursery near Plockton (Hamish MacBeth country). I'd bought one or two - or four - perennials, a rhodie (quite a good selection Shugs!) and two Lavatera.
Got them home and looked round the gardenm to decide where they were all going and i found two completely new Lavatera growing quite happliy - two different varieties and not the same as was already in the garden. There are no other Lavatera growing within a mile of my garden and there was no sign of them when I went on holiday 2 weeks previously. It's not a plant which is carried by birds what seeds there are aren't usually eaten by birds so I can only suppose the Lavatera fairy has been visiting. I'm not complaining though, one is pale mauve and the other is a lovely dark red.

Blooming heck how long were you away? If you said you could have had ours - case of wrong shrub in wrong place. It was given to Tiglet by someone she worked with and we did not initially know what it was.
Lavetera - Colourful, big, boisterous, blousy growth - now who does that remind me of?

They're only ickle baby plants at the moment but they'll fill a couple of corners when they grow up.
