This little fellow has spent all morning taking Hazel nuts from a bush in our garden and burying them. I hope he remembers where they are, or else we will have an orchard of Hazel trees! Sorry about the poor quality of pictures, but I couldn't get any closer without disturbing him. Here his busy burying his nut. Having a well earned rest

Damn and blast and me with no catapult. We get one doing the very same thing and I am sure if Tiglet had a gun handy she would leave aside her caring side for one moment.

I know someone who would like to see the 'dear little fellows' get a good long rest!!
But I suppose he has as much right to be here as the rest of us
(I don't mean my friend who gets cross with the little darlings for driving away his bird - I mean squirrels)

Like a small grey coffee-pot, sits the squirrel. He is not
all he should be, kills by dozens trees, and eats his red-brown cousins.
The keeper on the other hand, who shot him, is a Christian, and
loves his enemies, which shows the squirrel was not one of those.

I think Humbert was right!

Hmmm.... quite a gifted squirrel. I wonder if he can do that thing where they get a can of lager?

xxx If you have alot of holes, it may be badgers. They dig a hole for their toilet.

Just have to discourage the likkle boogers!

Try the pepper (forget the type) mixed with the bird food and grease the pole if you hang up the nuts - free entertainment as well then.
As for them remembering - they don't they randomly dash around using scent to find those buried hence we get lots of little hazel saplings everywhere ;(
