This is scrummy - personally, by accident I forgot to make it and only gave it a week last time but, for me, it was nicer...the longer you leave it the 'thicker' it gets and becomes more like a liqueur. I also don't worry about the kilner jar - any bowl in the fridge will do, just remember to stir it every day.

Christmas Pudding Vodka
Ingredients: 70cl bottle vodka, 250g dark muscovado sugar, 250g caster sugar 100g mixed peel 250g sultanas 250g raisins rind and juice of half orange, rind and juice of half lemon 2 tsp almond essence 2tsp vanilla essence 6 cloves 2 heaped tsp ground cinnamon 1 level tsp ground ginger 1level tsp freshly grated nutmeg 1 level tsp allspice Also a 2 litre kilner jar or similar.
Method: Just put all ingredients into the jar and shake once a day every day for the next 2 weeks. Then strain contents into a bowl through a fine sieve or muslin and put the liquid in a bottle and seal. Don't waste the fruit, take the cloves out and use it to make ice cream, serve with cream . . . or anything else you can think of.

I have saved this to my favourites but not sure why as we are [as everyone knows] both Teetotallers

Ooh this seems lovely. The vodka and the pud stuff. Just wish I could take out the calories first. Any suggestions?

I've kept the recipe you put up a few years back, it makes great Christmas pressies if done in nicely decorated jars!
