***This post really DOES contain SPOILERS!!!!!!***
I've been through it about 4 times now (first in just under 3 hours... I should get out more).
I enjoyed it, and thought it was good in bits, but found that the bloodbath took things a little bit too far. She killed far too many peripheral characters and the deaths lost some of their impact I felt. And as for Snape, well come on!! Surely the guy deserved a better send off than that... I had guessed about the whole in love with Lily thing (that's why Harry's eyes have always been so important in the story). I was hoping for a final showdown with Harry and Voldemort where Snape would fling himself in front of Harry, saving his life and distracting Voldermort to let Harry cast the killer curse. But no, he dies after getting a hickie from a snake. That's no way for a hero to die. *sigh*
She can't really write very well, but she tells a good story, and the narrative has kept me hanging on the edge of my seat for a number of years now. What to read next?

I thought Snape's send off was good, especially the way we got to find out his story in great detail after the fact.

I've been absolutely longing to look at this thread since it started but resisted the temptation till I finished the book!
I think it was great - as has been said JKR is a great storyteller and I think she brought it all together brilliantly. For me the most poignant moment was when Harry saw in Snape's memory that he was the seventh horcrux and felt Dumbeldore had betrayed him.
Whether or not you believe that JKR is a brilliant writer there is no doubt that the series is imaginative and interesting and the interest it has engendered in children who would otherwise not read is remarkable.
