I would be interested too, to hear about a third book.
BUT I thought we were going to have a 'Virtual Book Club'.. meeting in the chat room (Club Room) on a particular day/time... I've been waiting to discuss Harry Potter... was that not what was supposed to happen??
Perhaps we could do that next time?
*waits to hear about next book*

We can, of course, have a chat about book two this week.
As for book three, maybe we should wait until after BALI

OK well I'm up for it.. What day is club night?
I think we should have a regular day/time.. just like a real Book Club.. what do you think? Something like the third Wednesday every other month or something like that. After our discussion, we could choose the next book. Maybe take it in turns to choose.
Just thoughts.. not trying to browbeat anyone!

ok
My brain is in gear, I think.
Club night will be 9pm-whenever on the second Tuesday in the month. That will mean there being a meeting this Tuesday.
Can I have a club night monitor to remind me when it is each month?
This week's discussion will be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

So,
we have had modern comedy (Starter for 10) and we have had popular fiction (HP)
what next?
shall we agree on a genre?
We could do romance, straight novel, 'classic book', biography
If I had to pick one book at random (I have just looked at the shelves of books I have either never read or haven't read in 25 years), my eyes have just hit upon 'Cider with Rosie' by Laurie Lee.
This is, of course, a democracy, so feel free to make other suggestions. We could then have another poll.
So, suggestions by next Friday at 9pm. (14th September)
The poll will then open until Sunday 23rd September
We will then set a date to have read the book by
Neil

Gosh.. 'Cider with Rosie'... I haven't read that in 30 years... I think it wiould be nice to read it again from an adult perspective.
I'm waiting to see who wins the Booker prize... that may be quite interesting!
A biography? I have Rikki Fulton waiting to be read.

Like the idea of a book chat in the cr - might not always be there on the night though. Have Ricky Fulton's Autobiography - "Is it That time Already" but haven't read through. Several good Joanne Harris as well as "Chocolat" - "Gentlemen and Players " is a good one. Remember "Cider with Rosie" from way back - if we're going there what about L.P. Hartley's "Go-Between" ("The past is a foreign country - they do things differently there") or my real old favourite - Dodie Smith's "I Capture the Castle"? Just some ideas from an addicted reader

Ooh can I join in please? I promise, I'll go with the flow.
I have 100s books, but I tend to stick to similar types, whodunnits and crime. When I find an author I like, I tend to buy all of their books. Have some of the old classics like Little Women etc. and some autobiographies (but not many). So my suggestions may be limited.
I'll read anything!
