don't bother with "Black Market" currently available in paperback.
Turns out it was written in 1985 and it's bluddy awful. Dialogue unbelievable, stereotypical characters, muddled plot - or at least it lost me.
Hard to believe it was written by the same chap.

no , not a fan, but have you tried the Richard North Patterson books - tackles, and I think tackles very well many of the political/ social/ legal problems in USA over the past few years. The books seem well researched and I think well worth a read eg 'eyes of a child' ; 'protect and defend'.

Hi James Patterson? yep thememsahib & I have read some 26 of his paperbacks...holiday reads... Richard North P.? about 5 paperbacks...then gave up on him. Funny old thing, taste...thanks for the warning...was waiting for the right supermarket price...

I can take him or leave him, just read his brand new one "You've been warned" (dont think its out in UK yet) which I picked up at chicago airport and I really enjoyed it, not his usual type of book.

Just finished reading "You've been Warned"
Excellent book and yes, very different indeed. Just about to read my second Christmas present now - "Double Cross" the latest in the huge collection featuring Alex Cross, all of which we have.
I also have a full collection of the ones featuring the Lindsey Boxer character; 1st To Die, 2nd Chance, 3rd Degree, 4th of July, 5th Horseman, 6th Target and the latest one 7th Heaven.
Mine are all in hardback.
