How dare you! My Dear Chickenlegs, you'd be more than welcome to join us on Games and Competitions Board. I got 200 in TWO weeks, thankyou. At the moment it is free from the "insight" of the above. (He critizises ME on the number of my posts - I wonder how he managed to accumulate a total of ten thousand plus!) Look on the bright side, only 196 to go, eh? I wouldn't have taken what Lord L said as a criticism of you, more an observation that it is possible to amass a large number of postings in a short space of time, particularly if you spend a lot of it on here. I initially accumulated a lot of posts in a short space of time by playing on the Games boards and by posting like a thing possessed whilst learning how all this works etc. I find now that I have less time due to work, but also that I am being more selective in what I post which means making it to the next level will take me a while yet.

Why thank you Young Nat. I'll take up that kind offer, although I don't suppose it counts towards my 200? On Daxie's help for newbies, it says you just have to ask for a chatroom password in the thread on the Notice Board. But then it wouldn't be a Togs site if it wasn't confusing. CL - it was a case that all you had to do was ask for the password, and it would be freely handed over... BUT...
some peeps were then entering the Chatroom and not able to join in with the madcap conversations, on account of not really knowing anyone.
So... Mick changed the rules (see thread togs.proboards53.com/index.cgi?board=Notices&action=display&thread=1156062007) the general idea being, if you'd taken the time to amass 200 posts, you'd be more au fait with the goings on!
Hope that helps.
Kel x
ps - postings on all the boards count toward your total.

Look forward to seeing you soon then, Chicken Legs! A note to Candy - Lord L and I are good friends (I think, anyway ) and I certainaly did not take what he said as criticism, more a kind of joke. Which come to think of it, people think of my posts too.

Gosh! What's the next level after a Grand Tog? Top Tog. After that, well, one leaves the world of mortal men and is invested with powers that can only be divulged to other exalted beings and the Duke of Kent.

Oh, to be a Super Tog! My Lord, you forgot the bit about the Green Stars. All six of them.

Oh, to be a Super Tog! My Lord, you forgot the bit about the Green Stars. All six of them. That was what happens after 'Top Tog', when one leaves the ranks of ordinary men. And as for 'Oh, to be a Super Tog!' shouldn't you have rather more challenging ambitions at your age? Like being a train driver or something?

I believe I'm about to hit TOGdom on my 200th post - and all in 1 week!
Now facing long weeks between 200 and 1000 posts - 'Grand Tog' status.
Any chance of intermediate ranks for to break up the TOGdom?
Underling? Lackey? Peon?

I think having more TOG designations is a good idea. It'd certainaly help to quicken the 'transitions'.
What about different coloured stars as well?

How about ignoring the stars or number of posts, and just enjoy the posting from some witty folk (they are there...somewhere...I'm sure I read one once...)

do you think if I stay up all night I can do enough posts to get a password for the chatroom by 11am tomorrow morning? And if so will I still be awake by then??

the bigger problem that of course no-one tells us newbies about is that every time you post you then need to spend ages the next time you are on (1) remembering what thread or threads you posted on (2) checking what if any replies have been posted and (3) posting again to reply to the replies.... eons of time pass, the kids think you have become glued to your chair, the hubby thinks you're having an online affair... etc etc

Simple.
