For a few years now, we've had a squirrel who visits our garden and comes quite close to the house.
The nuts in the bird feeders disappear quite quickly when he's about but we don't mind that.
However, this year, he has started destroying the bird feeders AND digging up/knocking over loads of the large plant pots.
When I got up this morning, he was climing the frame which supports a passion flower in a pot - he was only a couple of feet from the kitchen window!
We don't mind him getting some food, we quite like to see him really but how can we stop him destroying everything??

He's probably bored - build him a little adventure playground down the far end of the garden, away from your tubs!

my clever brother in law says if you grate cheap smelly soap around the garden it keeps the squirrels away. I haven't tried it so I don't know if if works. The squirrels in my garden bury the peanuts, then the badgers come after dark and dig them up, along with my bedding plants. Will it never end............... Rose.
