All of the cherrys in my tree, have been eaten, possibly by blackbirds, although other birds are available.
At least last year, I got to sample a few.
Never mind, there's always next year.

Pete, if the tree is small enough, cover it in netting. I love blackbirds - their song is thrilling - but I reckon they stake out cherry trees and all the soft fruit bushes, so they briefly take on the role of garden pests.
