I posted this on the Children in Need forum.
I'm quite new here and I've been reading through some of the excellent short stories on the 'Creative Writing' forum. A lot of real talent here and most of it probably unpublished. None of my contributions are published.
Then Mrs Dwarf (Hideola) suggested the idea of producing a book of short stories for Children In Need.
I would have no idea how to go about this and maybe our administrators could help, but I'd be more than pleased to see my stories published for the cause. Maybe it could be combined with poems from the Poetry Forum. Contributors could perhaps post their agreement on their story threads or be contacted once the initial choice is made.
I have mentioned before somewhere that I produce our village magazine, printing it at home on a fancy laser jobby, but it's not professional enough for this (A4 folded and stapled down the middle - 5 sheets max). Does anyone else know if this could be done?

A friend of my ex published his own book and sold it via Amazon.
From recollection, he paid a printer to run off and cut to size the pages, then bound each copy himself and printed his own cover on special paper or thin card.
It was a short run of books, as far as I recall.
He had to send a copy to the British Library and each of the National Libraries in the UK and get an ISBN number.

Publish and be bought!
I am at the head of the queue when the first one comes out... elbows Lily et al out of the way.
Seriously, I am sure you would have a great success with the stories... I wish John Peel was still with us, could see these going down a storm on the old Home Truths programme.
Thank you for the pleasure you are bringing to us.

I wrote a Christmas type poem about six years ago with the idea of giving it to Children In need. I was promised by about three different people on the old Togs web site that they would help me get it illustrated to the state where I could send it to Sir Terry but none of them came up with the goods so it is still lying here gathering dust. Maybe this is a way I could get it and any others to the starting gate. Hope so.
