I forget how nice it is to walk along the path of the Thames to work each morning. Nothing 'special' about the pictures, just a nice walk.

I forget how nice it is to walk along the path of the Thames to work each morning. Nothing 'special' about the pictures, just a nice walk. Wow! I think those are pretty 'special'! The trees give some of those piccies quite an exotic feel. I like the way they frame the scenery in most of the piccies. Makes me slightly nostalgic, we lived by the Thames for six months a few years back. The walks were indeed excellent.

Good lord, they are beautiful. As a Portsmouth-ite, when I hear Thames, I just think of the horrible yucky bit in London.
I really must get out more! Just beautiful Lil'. I'm very jealous. x

I'm very jealous. x Even the Yucky bit in London (I assume you mean along the Embankment) has its attractions but of a more robust nature. I always enjoy a stroll along the Embankment when in London but would not live there for a King's ransom. BTW Lily - I love the photos.

I love the photos.
I like the big sky, and as has been mentioned, love the trees framing the picture. My favourite is picture 4, absolutely lovely.
I am very lucky to be able to drive along the seafront to work, and I know how much of a difference it makes to be able to see such beauty every day.

I'm very jealous. x The Thames is a very long river and has some lovely bits and some not so lovely bits. The nine miles between Henley and Reading has a lot to recommend it (Yes I HAVE walked it!)

Thank you peeps! Hope I'm not boring you now! Just to show the difference, these were taken the following day at the same time. It was blooming cold and the mist was coming up off the river. I do think the second lot have some 'atmosphere' quite different, which just goes to show how the same scene can change. Think I prefer these personally.
Yes, MC they were taken about 7.40am both days. BTW - it's Twickenham.
PMLL bought me a 'happy snappy' digital with a bigger screen after I complained the one I had was too small - this Panasonic DMC-FX35 suits me down to the ground - I photo everything in 'idiot mode'! xxx

A bit late but thank you for the compliments folks.
It's given me the confidence to come out of 'idiot mode' (maybe even read the manuel!) and try a bit better.

I know I'm a bit late with this Lily but you have no idea what a reaction they caused when I saw your photos. I lived in Walton- on-Thames before we moved to France and I do miss the walks along the river. Your photos made me feel really homesick and brought tears to my eyes. They are truly wonderful photos especially numbers 2 and 3 of the mist. Do show us more.
