...in loving to settle down with:
P.D. James (Dalgliesh) Ruth Rendell (Wexford) W.J. Burley (Wycliffe) Colin Dexter (Morse)
When l'm in a reading phase, I just want to switch off, so to speak, and love these novels.
Even although most have been 'televised' now, the books are so good, with so much more detail that often, even if you've seen the TV adaption, it's almost unrecognisable so I'm often surprised.
Please someone tell me I'm not alone!
xx

I've read all the Morse books and I too like Reginald Hill.

I've read the Morse and Dalgleish books and always enjoyed them but in a different way to how I enjoyed the televised versions of them. I've recently started on the Rebus novels too, and find them hard to put down.

Ian Rankin is brilliant!
I recommend if you can reading them in order so you can watch the characters develop.
