If you love sixties music, this film is worth seeeing just for the sound track. I went to see it tonight with my 18 year old Tyg, who was watching it for the second time within 48 hours. She loved the sound track just as much as me, and was laughing, as much at the film as at me, who was jigging about in my seat to the music, to 'Oh my goodness, I loved this song'. We came away laughing and desperate to get the sound track. If you want sixties nostalgia, go and see this film, and I think you will thoroughly enjoy it. Take a step back in time, to when some of us were teenagers. Remember listening to pirate radio under your pillow? I did.

I was speaking to my sister is Aus about this earlier today. It's good to hear a 'proper' review as the critics have not been over kind to it yet.
Shemmy, if you've not read Johnny Walker's autobiography yet, I'd recommend it.

Not being one to usually peruse boards other than the notice board, the title of your thread jumped out at me on the boards list, Shemmy. As a person whose last trip to the cinema was probably to see Titantic, it might interest you to know that The Boat That Rocked is a film I'd like to go and see at the cinema. Being a young teenager in "those days" of Radio Caroline North and living and breathing sixties music ever since, it's a must for me! Perhaps we'll go this week!!

Iona, do go and see it, not just for the film, but the nostalgia. Tyg and I both read the critics reviews, and decided that we would decide for ourselves. The critics, must have had no connection with music, because I couldn't sit still. You will be back in the sixties. Lynn, I will go and hunt out Johnny Walker's autobiography. As Tyg, said, it is a film and not a documentary. It is fun. xx
PS. Tyg, went out today and bought the sound track, that is how much she loved the music, chip off the old block. Lol.
