Sunday 15th November 7.30pmNew venue this year, still the wonderful Warren though - "The Village Club" Wigshaw Lane, Culcheth WA3 4LY. More room and cheap drinks as it's a club ;D Tickets are £8.00 each (includes hotpot supper) from me and as we sold out last year, it would be advisable not to leave it too long if you'd like to attend. Teams of 4. Anyone travelling who wishes to stay overnight and make a weekend of it could stay at the "Sporting Lodge", Greyhound Hotel on the East Lancs Road just over a mile away. The rooms are really nice and their prices are good. The famous Bents Garden centre is very close and their Christmas displays should be on show by then. Well worth a visit. I believe some people are planning to do this. www.sportinglodgeinns.co.uk/ Phone: 01942 671256 For quiz tickets or any enquiries please pm me or email me on dora_jarr@hotmail.co.uk

I've just had a chat with our postie about the timing of any possible strike action. He told me that - with exquisite timing - the Warrington area will be on strike late October/ early November, if it happens, which he's almost certain that it will.
So anyone who wants to apply for tickets might want to send for them sooner, rather than later. We'll be away from Tuesday 22nd September to 6th October, but I'll send any tickets out as soon as we get back.

Dora, is that the same place we had the mini bashette last year? Cos if it is, it would be lovely if we could tag another bashette onto it this year - I know I got there late, but I'd make a special effort this time! Anyone reading this - if you fancy meeting up at the Greyhound on the afternoon of the quiz, let's do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Haven't had a proper toggy get together in aaaaaaaaages, well since last year! At the mo, I'm staying with Dax, but if we get a bashette off the ground, I may stay at the Greyhound instead. *Bogs off to dash off an email to Daxie, before she reads this and shouts at me!*
Oh, btw, I'd like a ticket please, so can you email me if you have my addy - if not, Iona's got it!! I'll send you a cheque asap once I have your snail mail addy! Going now cos I'm confusing myself!
Byeeeeeeeeeeee, Fids

Great stuff Fids! I think it would be an excellent idea to have another bashette at the Greyhound - even if I did have to leave early.
Up to now, I think the Crinklies, Buxy, Old Bean and possibly others will be actually staying there, but I'll put a notice on the Bash Board to see if anyone would like to do it.
I'll watch out for the postie. ;D

As the Post Office strike looks as though it might start on the 22nd October, if there's anyone else from a distance that would like to attend the quiz, it might be as well to send for your tickets in the next couple of days.
Bloomin' strikes! *sighs*

TOGS FOR HIRE!!!!!
Lady Jane & myself are going to the Culcheth quiz again. (I've now got over the fact that it is not in Wales despite the name) . We are looking for a couple of like minded folks to join us to make up the team....We don't expect to trouble the scorers just to have a good evening... Any Takers?
