Um. I'd just like to say that I really hate to see any signs of bad blood on the boards. It makes me feel all knotted up inside.
I know in any large group of people there will inevitably be some folk you like, some you're ambivalent towards and some you just can't get along with. I do try very hard to say nothing unless I've something good to say. I don't always succeed, but I do try.
I think it's also inevitable that when some folk in a large group are more high-profile than others and devote a lot of their time to making a huge success out of something that is connected to/arose out of a common group of people and interests, that other people are going to feel put out for any number of reasons.
That is not meant as a criticism of anyone at all, it's simply an observation on my part. I've had some really great times with just about everyone who's posted in this thread (I think Lollie is the only TOG who's replied that I've not yet met), and I really don't want to get into anybody's bad books.
I think I'll just rearrange the sandbags and duck back behind the parapet, now, if it's all the same to everyone...

That's the problem though, in a nutshell. The calendar started out very small, and with a similaly small group of people, namely the Calendar Crew, whose names I've listed previously on this thread. They had the ideas, they did all the hard work, they badgered people to get them to pose for pics etc etc. When, like Topsy, it growed, people like me willingly gave what help they could, so that the core group could get the occasional night off from typing labels, writing letters, stuffing envelopes etc all night and weekend after a full day's work. Unfortunately because this isn't the "real" world, it's all to easy for misconceptions to take root and go uncorrected because we don't often see each other face-to-face, and it's harder to express yourself in the written word. And also, as is the case with the CD Iona mentioned, things weren't said publicly which maybe should have been, out of politeness and consideration of others' feelings. And, sadly, once a conspiracy theory takes root, it's harder to get rid of than a bl**dy dandelion ;D
