I love the last one, it looks good enough to be a poster to me!

Oh they are lovely. I read these boards even though I have no artistic talent, I cannot even draw the curtains!

As said before, the last one looks as though it came from a postcard. I like the way the big wheel pulls your attention to the edge.
I would airbrush out the folks in the first one. Not because I don't like them, but they are a distraction from the sunset on the spire through the trees.

Ray I hope you don't mind, but I used it as my background, then noticed it went black and white when I was closing down. Love the black and white version. Sorry not clever enough to make it bigger.
Think I need to get into Flickr! xxx

I don't mind in the slightest.
I'll re-visit the original RAW files and have a go at a B&W convert. Watch this space...

My view is that, in this case, the coloured version is better. Normally I would prefer B&W, but here the lighting doesn't do anything to show shape, texture and depth. Maybe when the two pictures are the same size and next to each other that I may have to change my view.

Yes Beau I think alomgside each other would be easier. (Still like the B & W one as my background!) xxx

How odd! The B & W one ain't that blurry on my desktop background thingy! Mind you, I just saved it and uploaded it to photobucket and back. (Or rather, PMLL did!)
*waits to see Ray's original*

Fab photos Ray! The first one looks just like a beautiful painting, were it not for the day-glo joggers! Beautiful!

I was interested to see what cropping would do to the picture. On the one hand I think it concentrates your mind more but that is because the picture becomes far more 'busy'. Personally I think that that is to the detriment of the photograph but the fact that they can withstand cropping is due to the initial brilliant composition. Well done Ray
