Very atmospheric!
Personally I think the third one really captures the area

But would have needeed a saw to get it out of the shot. The mist was a Very Strange Thing indeedy. It came and went within about ten minutes. I have other shots of it moving across a field and then heading elsewhere. Spoooooky! Will try harder next time!

But probably I am a philistine!
I like the first one - the water looks amazing. They all make me very nostalgic - I used to go to that part of the world when I was a wee girl and I loved it. I had some great aunts and uncles who lived near Aberfeldy
I remember swimming in Loch Tay at Kenmore in the pouring rain!

Reading Mahatt's comment caused me to look again at the fence - I don't see a great deal wrong with it and sometimes we just have to accept that some things cannot be kept out of shot. I feel the balance of the composition would be affected negatively were the fence to be cropped out in a Photo editing program.
To Ivy - A) Yes ;D
B) Yes but was that because it was better than the Govan bathing facilities? ;D ;D

I ain't knocking, I doubt I could get as good a picture! Bit careless of some farmer to put a fence just where you wanted to take a picture though. I'm not sure if cropping it helps, WDYT?

IMHO it's better uncropped. Whether it would be better without the fence I'm not sure! Overall I think I prefer it with. This was just done quickly on PSP (I trust you don't mind Ian)! Glen

I actually think that the fence adds to the total feel/structure of the scene, the lines add a composite effect.
(didn't want to say anything before in case I upset Mahatt)

(didn't want to say anything before in case I upset Mahatt) Upset me in a conversation about photos? I don't think so! I am a complete novice when it comes to such things and was just thinking out loud / seeking other opinions. In actual fact, after seeing Glen's pic without the fence I think it looks better with. (though I also like it cropped)

Aberfeldy? I imagine the birks behind the camera.

Without the fence I feel a rising panic. But it's only the ex-farm worker in me imagining the livestock disappearing over the horizon ..................................... ah! Such fond memories!
And if I were putting that fence up I would take away every other post!
PS - love the piccies! Can I knick the second one for my wallpaper on my lappy?
