Who passed away "of old age" in the Cayman Islands. One of the most gripping thriller writers ever in my opinion. ClickGlen

I remember reading some of his stuff in abridged format in those Readers Digest book club collections. My dad used to get those from time to time, he had quite a collection. I don't know what happened to them...
RIP Mr Francis.

I had most of the books at one time in hardback - probably went to a charity shop.

I am still an avid reader.
I read the new (co written with Felix) and reread the ones I first read nearly 30 years ago.
RIP The Master.

I picked up a couple of Dick Francis novels from the local charity shop whilst on my hols, as I had run out of everything else I took to read.
I had never read any of his books before and thought that I might not like them due to various preconceptions. I have to admit that I loved them and found them to be very good indeed, in fact now if I have to go the charity shop for more books, I find myself looking out for them. A very good writer and very good books.
RIP Dick Francis indeed.

I have some signed first issues cos I went with afriend to signings. He was always very gentlemanly but obviously didn't enjoy the occassions unlike Sir T P. I loved his early books and still enjoy reading his books. Ripping good adventures! R I P Dick Francis
