I have just had some shocking news.
My elder brother is seriously ill in hospital. Well, when I say serious, I need to explain further.
He is 43 years old. He has had health problems throughout his life. His kidneys do not function as well as they should, he is not on dialysis, and the problems have caused/involved him now having to catheterise himself in order to relieve himself. This causes numerous infections.
He has also, fo some related reason, had to have a double orchidectomy over the years, and has recently been diagnosed with some kind of cyst on his prostate gland.
He had an MRI a few weeks back and the specialist said he needed to refer the results to his consultant, and then promptly went on holiday without feeding back.
Well, my brother has been admitted to hospital with a massive infection, which is affecting his least effective kidney (it works at about 6%). It is possibly the worst infection he has ever had and, for the first time, I am very worried about him.
Can I ask anyone passing, if you have the time, to think about my big brother and pass on as many positive vibes as possible?
Ta SBW

Thanks. He's getting there. Intravenous antibiotics seem to be working and his surgeon is going to initiate a pincer movement on the part that is causing the problem at the moment and will take whatever action he deems necessary on Wednesday
