I'm not sure if I'm religious or spiritual or what ever, but I know I've been thinking about those Chilean miners a lot recently and trying to get the enormity of the rescue challenge into perspective.
Then I realised - I look out of my lounge window and the view is of Skiddaw, a mountain at just over 3,000 feet.
I can now imagine the shaft which has bored down through 2/3rds of it's height and visualise that 2,000 feet to fresh air, loved ones, freedom.
I have never taken the view for granted but I certainly have a different perspective of it all now. Good luck guys.

............... and they are now on their way out.
Amazing! And it is not over yet as they now have to re-adjust. Bless them.

I was awake at silly o'clock again this morning so decided to 'see how things were going'....I sat with tears streaming down my face when I saw the mine engineer being lowered into the cavern - what an amazing sight that was, seeing the capsule arriving in the mine ....needless to say I was the same mess when they pulled the first guys out! Still a long way to go but slowly does it guys.

I have watched some of the coverage of the rescue and it is quite a spectacle.....a real human drama.
