A while ago I changed my car. After looking at various models I ended up with a 54 Reg Honda Accord Tourer. I have had no problems with it so far, but when it was serviced at my local garage they mentioned that the timing chain was noisy and they thought that Honda had had to change some on my model. Those of you who know anything about cars will know that a timing chain breaking is very very bad news for the rest of the engine and results in a very expensive repair job i.e. a new engine. Some what worried I contacted Honda UK to ask if my car was amongst the problem ones and if so how did I find out if it had been done. They advised me to book in to a local Honda dealer who would tell me if there was a problem. This I did and to cut a long story short they examined the car determined that there was a problem and fixed it all done under Honda's warranty on a six year old car. I consider this to be excellent service when so many horror stories about cars and car companies are all over the internet. I had been put off buying a BMW because of the number of people writing about the way BMW refused to acknowledge problems with the turbo on similar aged cars to mine that destroyed engines. So well done Honda I commend you to the house
