Yesterday while walking the dogs down our lane I came across the first snowdrops! OK I'm sure they have been around for sometime in warmer climbs but this is the north east of Scotland and they won't be in my garden for a few more weeks yet. I don't know what this spot has that other places don't, perhaps because they are all tucked under a lilac bush on a south facing bank but oh what a joy to see them bravely showing through. It gives me hope that I will be able to discard my wellies, thick socks, inner layers [well some of them] mid layers, outer shell, woolly hat, woolly gloves for something much lighter and quicker to get into in the not too distant future!

I do like snowdrops The best thing is you get one or two in your garden and then in subsequent years they just multiply ... very pretty
