My computer is running slow and I got a message saying it could be fixed with a free download. Fool that I am I believed this! I thought it was some sort of microsoft download, but it tells me I have faults and need to buy there download to fix the faults. I am so wary of this sort of thing but don't know what to do - comments please.

Assuming you are using one flavour of windows or another, go to Control Panel, the Add/Remove Programs or Program Manager (differs depending on which version of windows you use) find the program in question and remove it. Once it tells you it's finished, re-boot your machine. As a general rule, if you didn't ask for it, don't download it As to why your machine is running slow, it could be for any number of reasons, but let's get the offending application removed first, eh?

Oh thank you, I have just removed the offending program. Can't thank you enough. I am so dim where computers are concerned. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
