Does anyone else think this is a bit off and not professional? At our village surgery one of the doctors has brought his wife to work in the surgery as a nurse.
What happens is you have a complaint? Can't see him being objective can you?
Me and himself and loads of friends and villagers think it is not on but it is too late as she is installed!
Comments please.

I don't think it would bother me. I would have thought the practice would have the integrity to investigate any complaint made in a professional way. There is always recourse to your local NHS should a complaint not be resolved to your satisfaction. The other doctors in your practice would presumably have a say in resolving any complaint. How often does one have a complaint against a nurse?

I know of a few Husband/Wife doctor/nurse (not always in that order) and generally found them good partnerships. On occasions where either have said "Hang on let me see if Doc/Nurse can fit us in" and saved me from having to book another visit. I couldn't get that sort of service now as several have since retired The main issue would be if the qualifications don't stack up or the candidate process had been bypassed.

My doctor also has a wife. It's disgusting. I really don't think it should be allowed.
